的確,分?jǐn)?shù)有它不可低估的作用。從檢驗(yàn)學(xué)習(xí)的角度上來(lái)說(shuō),它具有一定的公平性和真實(shí)性,“分?jǐn)?shù)面前人人平等”,講的就是這個(gè)道理。然而,分?jǐn)?shù)并不是估量一個(gè)學(xué)生成敗得失的惟一標(biāo)準(zhǔn)??荚嚦煽?jī)偶爾低了一兩分乃至十來(lái)分,并不一定說(shuō)明什么問(wèn)題。考試的成敗有時(shí)也會(huì)受到諸如臨場(chǎng)經(jīng)驗(yàn)、健康狀況等方面的影響。“勝敗乃是兵家常事”這句話(huà)大概不會(huì)有人不知道,而我們?cè)趯W(xué)習(xí)上又何嘗不如此?在考試上很少有“常勝之師”,即使平時(shí)成績(jī)?cè)俸玫耐?/p>
學(xué),也難免會(huì)有偶爾的失誤。歷屆中考、高考“狀元”并非就是平時(shí)出類(lèi)拔萃的優(yōu)等生的事實(shí),便是明證。
事實(shí)上,“高分”與“能力”往往是不統(tǒng)一的。前段時(shí)間,社會(huì)上出現(xiàn)了一個(gè)新詞:“高分低能”。筆者就曾經(jīng)碰見(jiàn)這樣一位教師,據(jù)說(shuō)他畢業(yè)于某赫赫有名的重點(diǎn)大學(xué),但從教學(xué)效果上講,卻遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)遜色于一些非高等學(xué)府畢業(yè)的老師。其授課只是照本宣讀而已,枯燥乏味,缺乏一種教與學(xué)之間的協(xié)調(diào)功能。根本不能引起聽(tīng)課同學(xué)的興趣,目前不少大中專(zhuān)院校的高材生畢業(yè)后不能勝任他們的工作,原因就在于缺少將書(shū)本中的知識(shí)運(yùn)用到實(shí)際工作中去的能力。這種人,盡管在學(xué)校中每每能考出高分,可無(wú)法在工作崗位上靈活白如地運(yùn)用自己所學(xué)到的知識(shí)。國(guó)家培養(yǎng)出這樣的“人材”,不也是一種浪費(fèi)嗎?
由此可見(jiàn),分?jǐn)?shù)并不如有些人想象得那么絕對(duì)和權(quán)威,忽視了對(duì)各方面才能的培養(yǎng),只一味追求高分,是不行的。因此,我們應(yīng)該客觀地去看待分?jǐn)?shù),既不應(yīng)過(guò)分輕視它,也沒(méi)有必要把它看得過(guò)于神圣。
my attitude towards to marks
for our students, marks is above everything. teachers will judge us from our marks. with marks we can be enrolled into junior middle schools. with marks, we can be enrolled into senior middle schools. with marks we can be enrolled into college. with marks we can be enrolled into postgraduate and doctrine studies. still with marks we can be graded and be allowed to go abroad for further studies. our parents will be strict with us with the marks. our society judge us from marks. however, sometimes we students compare one another with marks directly. we are completely controlled by marks. we like them and we feel sorry for them. but what attitude towards our marks should we take?
truly, marks functions cannot be underestimated. in terms of test in our study, marks are fair and real. that is the reason why we say "everyone is equal before marks. "
however, i think marks are the sole standard to judge the success or failure of students in e_ams. sometimes, marks more than ten or less than one or two in our e_ams comparing with others mean not everything. the success or failure in e_ams will be influenced by e_perience on the spot and the e_aminee’s health etc. once in a while one cannot fail in e_ams. " success or failure is common sense for military. " i think everyone is familiar with the famous saying. don’t you think such will be the case with our study? in e_ams, one cannot be " never-defeated general" . even though one will be very good in everyday study, he cannot succeed in every e_am sometimes. we can get proof from the fact that the very best one we call "number one scholar" in the entrance e_ams for college and ordinary middle school and specialized secondary school over the years is not eminent above all others nor top student in every study.
as a matter of fact, "high marks" and "ability" are not unified. some time ago, a new phrase " high marks but poor competence" came into being. once i happened to meet such a teacher as this .it is said that the teacher just graduated from a far-famed key university. but his teaching result is much less than that of the one who just graduated from a not-well-renowned college. when lecturing, the teacher only repeated what the te_t-books says, which was very dull so the his students’ interest in learning was not aroused. his teaching was short of unity of teaching and learning. at present there is a fact that we know a few brilliant and top college graduates are not qualified for their posts. the reason for it may be lack of the ability to combine knowledge learnt from books with pragmatics in their work. students of this kind will be successful in every e_am but they will be able to use freely their knowledge in their posts. don’t you think it waste training such persons for the country?
to sum up from the above, i can say marks are not absolutely authoritative for some. if we neglect training and developing the students’ ability and competence and if we only seek for the high marks, we will be absolutely wrong. we should take an objective attitude towards the marks. neither should we neglect them nor should we overvalue them like a god.

my father
my father always stands in the center of my life, from past till now and possibly in the future.
my family was rather poor when i was in my childhood. we didn"t have our own house and had to live in a shabby, small room rented from my father"s factory. the room was so small that there was little space for people to walk. i didn"t have my own bed and had to sleep with my parents. this is terrible both for my parents and me.
but father made this all different! since the room was on the third floor, namely, the top floor in that old style building, the roof was quite high above the floor. so father got an idea. he bought two thick ropes and a flat wood that later was planed smooth, painted and drilled two holes on both ends.
then he hung the ends of ropes up to the roof. during the daytime, these two ropes would be tied up so that people down could walk freely! when night came, father would loose the ropes and tied them to the two holes of that flat wood. the length of these ropes was just long enough for me to sit or sleep on the board without other"s help.
so in this way my lovely, removable bed was born.
when winter came, this special bed obviously wouldn"t be able to make me feel warm enough. but father always had his so lution! he built a garret using some flat wood and iron sticks right above the bed. with some used iron tubes, he made an iron ladder for us to climb up to the garret. besides, he made a wood en desk for me to do my homework, and some simple furniture for my clothes, books and something else he had in fact made a small bedroom for me.
at first, my mother and i dared not climb for fear that it might collapse. but father climbed it everyday to prove its safety. the garret looked simple even shabby and the ladder seemed to decline soon. but later when i got used to it, i found it as solid as those made by professional carpenters.
i carried all my personal things onto that garret. my father and i pasted red papers on the wall and painted the ugly furniture red. so the garret became the first "room" that belonged to me.when i was about to move to my new house, i just didn"t want to leave. that garret was created with my father"s love and sweat and intelligence, beautified with my hand and filled with so many sweet memories of my family! that hard but sweet life time would live in my memory forever with father stands in the center of it.

dear friends!
do you still remember your first english teacher? you may say:“ yes.” everyone has his teachers, in my mind, i"ll never forget her ------my first english teacher ms. li. without her, i wouldn"t be standing here. she is a young and lovely lady with beautiful eyes. her voice sounds sweet and she speaks english very well. that was the first impression she left on us when she first gave us an english lesson.
in her class, she taught us carefully and patiently. she always made opportunities for us to speak english. she gave us many beautiful pictures to talk on them, played games with us and told us many interesting stories. little by little, i had interest in english, but english was a new subject to me, i had many difficulties in learning it well. i often felt very confused. it was ms. li who helped me to find ways to overcome my difficulties. she helped me to practice speaking english everyday. she always encouraged me whenever i lost heart. she helped me to have confidence in myself. she gave me what i needed, courage, confidence, good ways to learn english and opportunities to speak english in class. so i was grateful for her. maybe i can"t meet her again. the only thing i can give her is my best wishes. i wish my dear teacher happiness, good health and good luck. and i also want to say to her: thank you, ms. li. i love you!

ladies and gentlemen,
i have had a lot of teachers in my school who have given me much help in my study。 for their help i will never forget them。 but today i am going to talk about a special teacher of mine。 this teacher is not a human being and its name is“computer”。 it has been teaching me a lot of knowledge and i appreciate it very much。
with the development of modern science and technology, computers are widely used in every teritories (1) including education。 how can a computer be my teacher? how does a computer teach me? multimedia(多媒體)helps a lot in this aspect in recent years, and computer-based training (cbt) has become a popular educational medium (手段)。 even before the multimedia come (2) up, many different learning systems appeared, using the components and techniques we now associate with the term “multimedia”。 multimedia components, such as graphics (動(dòng)畫(huà)) , animations , sound and video, make the learning process easier through visualization。 animations can present many comple_ subjects dynamically, but human teachers can not do this on blackboards。 multimedia makes our study more lively and interesting。
for e_ample, a cd-rom disk named “encarta encyclopedia” contains 650 mb information including images, graphics, music clips, video clips, animations , te_ts, hotwords, and database search functions。 fields involved includes physical sciences, performance arts, social sciences, politics, military, education and so on。 when pressing a button, i can hear american president clinton"s speech clip。 i may enjoy playing all kinds of musical instruments in the world。 i can also see the animation of many physical phenomena。 this makes physical concept to be understood deeply (3)。 the audio features of multimedia can greatly help me learning (4) foreign languages。 with its speech output capabilities, i"m no longer dependent on an instructor for proper pronunciation。
how can i interact with a com puter? there are many ways, including keyboard, mouse pointer, and touch screen。 i often use a keyboard。 when i press right keys, i can see and hear whatever i want。 information world is at my fingertip。 i wish that true speech input-output system would be invented one day。
as teachers, computers have a lot of virtues: they are positive, they have good memories and never lose any information stored in them。 they have much knowledge in every field。 they can let out all kinds of sounds, and can also improve the efficiency of our study。 for e_ample, if i want to, i can skip some chapters so that i can study at my own pace。
although computers will never take the place of human teachers, they are welcomed by more and more learners。 computers will continue to evolve(發(fā)展)with the aid of modern technologies。 computers are so powerful, helpful and important that everybody needs it, especially in the future! i love my computer teacher!

leo tolstoy once said, everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.
he is right. we always have great plans and dreams in our minds… too ready to achieve something grand that changes the world or benefits all of mankind .for e_ample; we hate pollution and have made up our minds to find new energy sources that keep the environment clean. yet we still litter on the ground. we complain about traffic jams, so we plan to build more highways to solve the problem, but it never occurs to us that our failure to follow traffic regulations is the leading cause of this situation. we are so concerned that the violence in the media has a bad impact on our children, we urge the government to set laws to protect them. but, do we, as adults, set a good e_ample for our kids? we use nasty words and even spit on the ground in front of them, i dare to say, we harm more!
in my opinion, before we decide to change the world, we had better change ourselves first. as ordinary individuals, we do not have the power to change the world. but we can change our habit of littering, spitting, cussing, we can respect the environment around us, we must act as good models for our kids.
if each of us does all of these little things, all of us, millions and millions of individuals together, together we will be strong …strong enough to change our world!
so please, the ne_t time you do something, think how your actions influence not only you, but those around you too, especially our children …and perhaps more importantly…our planet!
