it is known to all that the beijing municipal government has already set the theme for the future games: new beijing, great olympics. for me, the 2008 olympics will be a great green olympics illuminated with two more special colors, yellow and red.

first, yellow is a meaningful color. the yellow river is china"s mother river and the descendants of the yellow emperor. this color has a special origin and great significance for the chinese people. beijing is the capital of new china and previously the capital for nine dynasties in chinese history. so, yellow will naturally add splendor to the 2008 games.

secondly, the 2008 olympics will be a red pageant.red is another traditionally cherished color for the whole country. we adore red. on big occasions, we like to decorate our homes in red. it is the color of double happiness, representing joyous moments, auspiciousness, enthusiasm and prosperity. red is one of the most suitable colors to describe the future of beijing . beijing , together with the whole country, is becoming more and more prosperous in the process of modernization. should the 2008 olympics be held in beijing, the whole city will be a sea of red : the red torch,red flags, red flowers, and the radiant faces of millions of joyful people. 《迎奧運(yùn)英語演講稿》出自：1566范文網(wǎng)

good morning!

today, my speech is "i am the part of the green olympics".

"green olympics" is one of the three themes of beijing 2024 olympic games. therefore the beijing government had made a great effort in order to protect the environment, build more "green project", keep the ecological balance, push the recycling economy, and protect the water resource. but if only the government take the action to realize the green olympics in 2024, its not enough. as a beijing high school student, we should play an active role in the actions aimed at the realization of green olympics. so we should start it from ourselves, our family, our friends and other people around us.

in 2001, in the moscow world trade center, when the former chairman of the international olympic committee, samaranch had said: "beijing, china!" as a beijing citizen, as a chinese, i had a great joy for my city, for my home country from the bottom of my heart! but after the e_citement that beijing had been succeed in the race to host the olympic game in 2024. i started to worry about the dusty air, the sandstorm, the polluted rivers and lakes; the streets without any green and whether we could successfully host the olympic games in 2024.

four years later, today, we can see 229 day blue sky in one year, we can hardly catch a glimpse of the sandstorm, groups of wild duck comes back to shishahai lake in the spring, and all the streets are dressed in green. all these make me deeply believe that beijing will surely succeed in 2024! and all these achievements are not only the result that made by the beijing government, but also by the 14 millions beijing citizens. as one of the 14 millions normal citizens, i am also adding my contribution to our green olympic!

i used to have a habit, which is to take two longtime showers every day. it was a big waste of water. one day, i saw a piece of news in beijing daily that about the lack of the beijing water resource. its said every year beijing use up about 3.7 billions cubic meter of water. but miyun reservoir only contains 0.77 billions cubic meter of water, and guanting reservoir only contains 0.19 billion cubic meter of water. this shows we are really short of water now! after reading this news, i start to change my habit, and only take one quick shower each day. i have calculated that if everyone economizes one cubic meter of water during they are taking the shower in a month; the beijing citizens will economize 14 million cubic meter of water in only one month! in 2004, as the beijing irrigation apartment reported that since 2001 beijing has succeeded in the application of hosting the olympic game in 2024. beijing government had started 26 programs in order to economize the water resource. after 3 years doing this, these programs have saved 0.437 billions cubic meter of water. its as big as a four-sized huairou reservoir! and now, in my daily life, in my family, we always think about protecting the environment and saving the resource whenever we doing what. the batteries, the aged newspapers, the empty glass bottles and all the recyclable garbage, we will classify them then put them in different trash cans; we make the most use of the nature light and shut off the electrical light conveniently; and when we shopping, we will bring a nylon bag with us instead of plastic bags; during the feast, i do not send any card in order to protect the forest resource; after washing the clothes, we wont dump the used water but use it to flash the toilet… all in all, we should start from every little thing around us to truly realize the "green olympic".

綠色奧運(yùn)是北京2024年奧運(yùn)會(huì)的三大理念之一。為此北京市政府無論是在環(huán)境的治理、綠化的建設(shè)、生態(tài)的保護(hù)、循環(huán)經(jīng)濟(jì)和水資源的保護(hù)與利用，都做了大量的工作。但實(shí)現(xiàn)"綠色奧運(yùn)"僅僅靠政府行為是遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)不夠的，作為北京的中學(xué)生更應(yīng)該積極的投身到"綠色奧運(yùn)"的建設(shè)與宣傳當(dāng)中去。從我做起，從我的家庭做起，從我身邊的朋友、同學(xué)做起。

2001年，當(dāng)前國際奧委會(huì)主席薩馬蘭奇在莫斯科高聲宣讀："beijing， china"的時(shí)候，作為一個(gè)北京人，一個(gè)中國人，我發(fā)自心底的為我們的祖國，我們的首都感到高興。但在高興之余，那灰蒙蒙的天空，那漫天的沙塵暴，那污綠的護(hù)城河，那見不到一絲綠色的街道，又使我深為北京能否在2024年成功辦好奧運(yùn)而感到擔(dān)心。

四年之后的今天，一年之中有了229天湛藍(lán)的天空，那滾滾的黃塵也早已不見，那一群群久違的野鴨也在春天飛回了北京的什剎海，街道也被綠色裝點(diǎn)的生機(jī)勃勃。這一切不知不覺的變化都在回答著我，北京一定能辦好2024年的奧運(yùn)！而所有這些變化不僅僅是北京市政府的努力，更是在政府領(lǐng)導(dǎo)下的無數(shù)北京市民們努力的結(jié)果。作為這一千多萬普通北京市民的一員，我也在為我們的綠色奧運(yùn)貢獻(xiàn)出自己的一份力量。

i was born in beijing and live in beijing, and i love beijing very much. when i heard that beijing will have a chance to hold the 2008 olympic games i feel very happy and e_cited, and i hope i can do something useful to build beijing into a beautiful and energetic city.

in the twenty-first century, environment is becoming more and more important, so we have "green olympic" as a slogan. of course slogan is just a goal, the most important thing is we should do some things to make it true. such as assort the trash, save the energy and so on. we are still students now, so we can"t do anything really big. but if everybody does something good for our environment we could make beijing more beautiful.

in fact the things we can do are easy. like not littering the useless batteries everywhere, assort the trash which we want to throw away, and also protect the animals and plants around us, because they are important parts of the energetic beijing.

luckily i had a chance to take part in an activity that is we planted 5 trees in our campus. my classmates and i worked very hard. this activity doesn"t only plant trees, but also contribute to our environment. look at the trees, i believe, tomorrow there will be more trees and flowers standing in beijing and give beijingers a beautiful environment.

we are all chinese people, live on the earth. we have only one capital, just like we have only one earth. if we don"t beautify our environment, who will? good environment depends on good human consciousness. we should say that protecting our surroundings is not easy. that"s why i"m standing here to summon people do it.

the 2008 olympics games is coming, this is a chance for us to show the good environment we have to other people. if we do from the bottom of our heart, beijing"s tomorrow will be more brilliant it will have blue skies, cleaner rivers. who don"t want beijing to become more and more beautiful? if we do our best, tomorrow will be better!

thinking about a few years ago, when i saw the ta_onomic dustbin in our community for the first time, the green olympic made no difference in my mind. i just regarded it as an interesting way to sort garbage. but when a few days later i raised my hands high up and was eager to be a member of "the communist youth league"s epd group", i told myself firmly, "it"s a great way to make contribution to the 2008"s beijing." maybe this is why i have that much passion on this great action. in the following months, we have activities such as picking up all the plastic things which are surrounded our school together with our teacher. we were all very e_cited about this meaningful thing. we also set up special dustbins for used batteries, so that we can both pollute less and recycle more. when seeing all the plastics and the batteries were carried on the truck which was going to the recycle factory to handle these things, we were all very happy about it. everyone forgot all the hardness. to let the dream of" green beijing" come true, all of us should give a hand. "i"ve do something great for you beijing," what a great sentence!

and at the same time, the actions of protecting the environment are going on, too. my father changed all the taps in my family into saving-water ones, and all the water we use are recycled for at least 2 or 3 times. i always can hear this ad on cri, it says, "5 million children died each year, just for the drinking water." so, help us to make the world safer. although my actions are rather small, but i think with all of you guys help, there will be a strong power.

the color green gives the olympic game a deeper meaning, green is in flowers, grasslands and in trees; green is in the sky, in the earth and in the sunshine. but to my opinion, green"s also in our minds, in our smiles and in the great love.

燦爛未來 綠色希望

清晨綠色的陽光透過溫柔的葉子灑向大地，年輪中曾經(jīng)青澀的時(shí)光向未來講述著美麗的傳說，奧運(yùn)五環(huán)中的綠色像溫暖的擁抱明亮的光環(huán)籠罩在北京蔚藍(lán)的天空下。隨著第29屆奧運(yùn)會(huì)的臨近，我們北京的每一個(gè)市民都像是綠色奧運(yùn)使者一樣，越來越熱愛我們的北京，越來越關(guān)心周圍的環(huán)境。我們因自己是北京人，可以向每一個(gè)外國友人展示北京的風(fēng)采而感到驕傲。而這樣一次又一次的感動(dòng)中，我看到草地更綠了，藍(lán)天清澈了，一棵棵的小樹苗在溫柔的微風(fēng)中茁壯成長。這是我的家，這是美麗的北京，這里寄托這綠色的奧運(yùn)希望。
